Recto: "Petersburg // All pines".
Verso: "Sept 19 64 Sketches on the Left of the Line // View showing the Rebel Line of Fortifications, their picket line, Petersburg, the Davis House, Weldon Railroad and our line of pickets. Sketched from the signal station on the extreme front, belonging to the 5th Corps. W.P. Davis House - This is the building mentioned in the papers a few days ago as having been burned by our men to prevent the rebel sharpshooters from anoying [sic] them and also the scene of the capture of a number of rebel pickets lately. Numbers of rebel deserters come through the corn in the center of the sketch." Rough drawing a bridge in landscape, canceled with several lines.

Poor; ripping along vertical fold; loss of paper at all corners, rips at upper margin.
