Recto: "Rebel fort Huger. Weir's point // Roanoke Island // This is the upper & strongest of the three forts on Roanoke Island side of Croatan Sound. It mounts 10 guns. After the fall of Fort Bartow, this one & the four gun fort were surrendered without firing a shot."
